FORUM Family Office ("FORUM") has acquired 100% of the shares in epias GmbH, based in Idstein in the Taunus region ("epias"), through its industry holding company FORUM Software Mittelstandsholding SE. FORUM is thus extending its activities in the logistical chain of emergency medicine from the control centers (SSE Software, Augsburg) via mobile mission documentation (pulsation IT, Berlin) to the digitization of processes in the emergency rooms of hospitals.
In 2021, Epias generated sales of approximately EUR 1.9 million with 12 employees. The core product of epias is epias ED, a web-based, modular documentation and workflow management system for hospital emergency rooms. Epias ED is supplemented by over 20 additional modules and interfaces to all common HIS systems and to documentation systems of the rescue service. In addition, epias offers software and hardware solutions for patient call and routing management in hospitals and ambulances.
Since its foundation in 2007, the company has developed into the market leader in the field of emergency room software with a market share of approx. 35%. The strong position of epias is based primarily on a very intuitive and practical menu navigation. With MDR certification, epias also has a unique selling point.
Currently, only about 20-30% of German hospitals use emergency room software. By 2025 at the latest, the proportion will rise to around 80-90% due to various legal requirements, so that the market will grow rapidly.
FORUM's continuation concept envisages a continuation of the company strategy in all essential points, in particular personnel and location will be retained. FORUM will encourage epias to build up all necessary resources and make investments in order to cope with the expected strong growth. With this partnership, epias should remain a future-proof and innovative partner for special emergency room software for its customers.
