FORUM Family Office (“FORUM”) has acquired 100% of the shares in ASSD GmbH (“ASSD”), based in Unterhaching, via its sector holding company FORUM Software Mittelstandsholding SE.
ASSD was founded in 1988 by Andreas Stolz to offer the market for hostels and youth hostels a better solution than the generic PMS systems. Today, with a market share of around 40%, ASSD is the market leader in this segment in Germany. The decisive factors were the consistent optimisation of the cloud-based software solution for the specific requirements of this customer group and outstanding service.
ASSD expects revenue of around € 2.5 million this year and employs 11 people. It serves around 150 customers with 800 properties, including many chains from all over Europe. Revenue growth has been consistently in the double digits in recent years.
The continuation concept provides for ASSD to carry on as an independent company with its own product. Andreas Stolz remains managing director for the time being, and of course all employees stay on board as well, many of them with many years of experience in this specialist segment.
Our existing portfolio company SoftTec from Sonthofen will continue to focus its software offering around its PMS system on the classic hotel sector. The two companies will work closely together in marketing/sales, in the development of jointly usable modules for the hospitality segment and in internationalisation.
“As an established and successful software company with long-standing, trusting relationships with customers and employees, our central concern was to set the course now for further growth and a secure future for ASSD GmbH. In the discussions with the Munich-based FORUM Group, which were characterised throughout by mutual respect and trust, it quickly became clear that we had found the right partner for the transfer. We look forward to a strong collaboration and to future successes.”
Andreas Stolz, founder of ASSD GmbH
